THE $299 ENTRY OFFER
A new mailbox.
A leaner way to install it.
Use the Classic kit, water-free foam
and a grouped South Tampa route.
THE COST TARGET
Keep the whole variable job under $199.
The hardware does not need to consume $199. This model uses about $101 in materials including a supply-tax reserve, then budgets the installer, marketing, fees and rework. What remains pays fixed overhead and your time.
MATERIALS + SUPPLY TAX
INSTALLER TARGET, ALL INCLUDED
RETAINED BEFORE FIXED OVERHEAD
The $65 installer fee includes ordinary old box/post removal, disposal and local route travel. It is a negotiation target for grouped, preassembled jobs. No installer has agreed to it. The Classic supplier specifies concrete: acceptance of the proposed foam substitution remains a launch requirement.

Material observations: October 28, 2026. Numbers and small supplies are allocations; exact digit counts and mounting fit still need checking. One foam kit is a volume assumption. Tax treatment and customer tax, if applicable, must be settled before a binding all-in price.
WHAT MAKES $299 WORK
The route matters more than the foam.
- One complete entry kit. The $54.98 kit already has the post and mounting hardware. Avoid a separate post, adapter and decorative extras.
- Preassemble and group nearby jobs. Aim for three or more approved replacements on one route. Ask installers for one fee covering removal, installation, cleanup and travel.
- Referrals before paid ads. The entry target allows $10 marketing per completed job. A $35 acquisition cost needs a different margin expectation.
- Use foam and existing suitable soil. Carry no concrete or purchased gravel. Review the old footing and hole after removal; more foam may be necessary.
- Keep names and lights optional. Standard address numbers stay included; custom names, metal plaques and solar signs pay for their extra material and labor.
To retain $100 under the default assumptions, the maximum all-in installer fee is . The current target has only of room below the $199 cost ceiling.
TEST THE ASSUMPTIONS
Higher labor changes the margin quickly.
These are scenarios, not installer quotes. Ordinary removal is included in each installer fee.

NEW / HAMILTON LOCKING KIT
A decorative pedestal.
A locking mail compartment.
$185.99 supplier kit · two keys included
$599 research installation estimate
The kit includes its own decorative post and mounting hardware. The proposed budget adds a separate treated 4×4 support, foam, numbers and ordinary replacement labor. It does not buy another decorative post or an extra mailbox adapter.
Mounting method is unresolved. Lowe’s advertises a 4×4 wood-post option, while its linked PED instructions show concrete-pad anchors. The foam-only scenario needs written confirmation of the wood support and attachment method before a firm offer. Foam must not be treated as a replacement concrete pad.
